Born and raised in London, England, Dr. Lena Hatchett resides in Chicago. Lena is first and foremost a human being, and also an aunt, sister, Black woman, mentor, associate professor, and facilitator.
Lena’s commitment and passion come from the sense of possibility that whatever challenges we're faced with we have a possibility to defend against and transform those systems. When we dismantle racism, what do we replace it with? What will the culture be when we dismantle racism? The ability to imagine and idealize a different reality is where Lena’s passion and commitment come from, and she embodies that every day in her life and work. The power of human potential gives Lena hope. Being in nature, slowing down, being with people, and having a sense of community bring Lena joy. |
